September 10, 2010 - Hopkinsville, Kentucky – Based on more than 25 years of a positive working relationship between newspaper and vendor, Kentucky New Era, Inc. has begun the process of upgrading their hardware and software in order to take advantage of the newest technology and additions available from Vision Data.
The publishers of the Kentucky New Era, the Princeton Times Leader, the Ft. Campbell Courier and The Eagle Post, and other print and web publications, purchased a complete system upgrade moving to a graphical SQL relational database version of their Vision Data display ad billing/accounts receivable and accounts payable/general ledger systems, as well as a major upgrade of their current circulation system.
The upgrade to Vision Total Advertising gives Kentucky New Era, Inc. a more powerful and robust combined display and classified advertising system. Add-ons include Vision E-Tear Module for electronic tearsheet functionality, Vision Classified Pagination, Vision Retail Ad Layout, VisionWeb Home Order Entry and VisionWeb Commercial Account Management.
The VisionWeb Home Order Entry system allows customers to place classified ads for web or print, 24/7. This system, which encourages multiple photos, video and mapping for on-line publications, has historically produced much larger than anticipated revenue increases. Additionally, VisionWeb Commercial Account Management enables commercial customers to pay their bills on line, renew their classified ads and access contract balance information, saving even more time for in-house staff.
Their upgraded Vision Circulation system will now include VisionWeb Subscription Management, allowing subscribers to go on-line to manage their subscriptions. They will also be adding the Vision EFT Module to manage their EZ Pay subscription program. Taking advantage of the Vision ICSS Module (Integrated Customer Service System) gives the call center simultaneous single-screen access to both a customer's advertising and subscription account. This enables in-house staff to have access to and promote cross-sells between advertising and circulation.
Chuck Henderson, President and General Manager of the Kentucky New Era, has been involved with Vision Data since the beginning. "We have enjoyed a long relationship of over 25 years based on 100% dependability of Vision Data software and their outstanding employees. There are many choices of software today, but our experience with Vision Data software has shown it to be bulletproof and the fact we have never been down a day in operations is proof that their staff is the very best in the industry for knowledge and innovation. The team at Vision Data from the inception has always specialized in one thing - newspapers and their needs. Some vendors try to be all things to all businesses, but Vision Data has stayed true to their word of serving the newspaper industry from top to bottom and inside out. Our family-owned business believes in loyalty to our customers and it is our experience that Vision Data shares the same philosophy."
