June 1, 2014 - RENSSELAER, NEW YORK – The Yankton Press & Dakotan begins training this month on their new “Infrastructure as a Service” (IaaS) system, hosted by Vision Data Systems for all key business systems of the newspaper. IaaS provides a lower cost option for those publishers who prefer the convenience of the “cloud” but prefer to retain ownership of their software instead of having to lease their software.

The system includes the Vision Total Advertising System, which combines Display and Classified sales and Accounts Receivables management in a single database with built-in CRM and direct account access, ad placement and account access via browser tools for outside sales staff. VisionWeb Classified and Commercial Account Mangement will add 24/7 sales power by providing web access to private parties and commercial advertisers, allowing new ad placement and payment, re-scheduling of ads, commercial statement review, reducing staff time requirements while increasing revenue.

The Press & Dakotan is also adding Vision Classified Pagination and Publication Layout Systems, and the Vision Total Circulation Management System including subscriber web subscription management.

Installation will be phased in over the next few months, starting with advertising and finishing with circulation. With this investment, The Press & Dakotan joins over 2000 other publications, nationwide, relying on Vision Data Systems to totally manage their sales, accounting and distribution systems.
